TVET Enhancement (BEAR II Intervention)
The BEAR II initiative focuses on enhancing the capacity of the TVET system to improve the employability of graduates from formal TVET programs in the agriculture sector—specifically in agro-processing and post-harvest management—across the maize, fruits, and vegetable value chains. The intervention is structured around three main result areas:
- Increasing the relevance of TVET by developing training curricula that respond to market demand for skills.
- Enhancing the quality of training through capacity building for TVET trainers and institutions.
- Improving public perception of TVET, making it a more attractive option for youth, enterprises, and the broader society.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES), UNESCO contracted Radix Management Consulting (U) Ltd to improve TVET materials on Agro-processing and post-harvest management. The goal is to boost the competencies and interest of young people enrolled in these courses at TVET institutions.
