Prof. Benon C. Basheka, CEO and Managing Director of Radix Management Consulting (U) Ltd, participated in the UCUSAF Validation Workshop for the Integration of ICT for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) Programme. The workshop convened sector leaders, policymakers, technical experts, and programme stakeholders to validate strategic direction, institutional coordination mechanisms, and implementation frameworks aimed at strengthening digital inclusion in Uganda.

The initiative aligns with UCUSAF’s broader mission of promoting equitable access to information and communication technologies. Through targeted interventions, the programme seeks to enhance accessibility, digital literacy, assistive technology deployment, and inclusive service delivery for Persons With Disabilities across Uganda.

Focus of the Validation Workshop

The validation workshop provided a structured platform to review programme design, assess implementation feasibility, and strengthen accountability frameworks. Discussions emphasized alignment with national ICT policy priorities, Sustainable Development Goals, and institutional coordination across government, private sector, and civil society actors.

  • Assessment of integration models for ICT-enabled services for PWDs.
  • Review of institutional roles, stakeholder collaboration, and governance mechanisms.
  • Validation of monitoring, reporting, and accountability frameworks.
  • Strengthening digital skilling and assistive technology deployment strategies.
  • Ensuring long-term sustainability and inclusive programme design.
“Inclusive digital transformation is not optional — it is a governance obligation. Systems must be designed to serve everyone.” — Prof. Benon C. Basheka
